Get to know more about Panos Malakoudis, UK ICF Co-Director for Credentialing Standard and Coaching Education Providers, as he shares his journey into coaching and his reasons for joining the UK ICF as a volunteer!
Q: What motivated you to volunteer to join the UK ICF, and what drew you to this organisation specifically?
A: Two key motivations inspired me to join the UK ICF: a desire to serve and a commitment to using my skills to advance the coaching profession. Coaching has profoundly enriched my life, and joining the UK ICF board felt like a natural next step in my career to give back to this incredible community. As an active UK ICF member, I was well aware of the impactful work already underway, making it an easy decision to join this board of exceptional leaders.
Q: Can you share a bit about your journey into coaching and what inspired you to pursue this path?
A: Coaching has profoundly shaped my career. From my early days as a new manager, struggling to find my voice, to overcoming limiting beliefs later on, a coach was always there to help me gain clarity and perspective. At one point, while reflecting on the transformative impact coaching had on me, I realized I wanted to "pay it forward." This led me to embark on my own coaching education journey—a decision that has truly been one of the best I've ever made.
Q: What are your personal goals or aspirations within the coaching profession, and how do you hope to make an impact via your coaching?
A: My goal within the coaching profession is to empower as many individuals and organizations as possible to unlock their full potential. I aim to bring this vision to life not only through my own coaching practice but, more importantly, by leading initiatives that enable coaching to scale and reach unprecedented numbers, impacting more people and organizations than ever before.
Q: How do you see your role within the UK ICF contributing to the wider coaching community and its future development?
A: As Co-Director for Credentialing Standards and Coaching Education Providers, my goal is to make a meaningful contribution to the coaching profession by reinforcing the importance of credentialing, simplifying the journey from start to finish, and fostering strong partnerships with coaching education providers to elevate the standards of coaching education.
