Join a Local Group Network

The UK ICF Chapter supports a fantastic network of local groups for professional coaches. Each group has been set up by coaches who are committed to our profession and passionate about raising the profile of professional coaching across local communities and business networks. This Network is at the heart of making coaching an integral part of a thriving society.

What are the benefits of joining an ICF local coaches group?

These are just some of the benefits of joining a local group:

⁃ Regular opportunities for coaching skills development and the award of Coach Education Units (CCEUs)

⁃ A chance to hear speakers on a range of coaching related topics 

⁃ Participate in discussions on coaching business development

⁃ Access to a national network of professional coaches from a variety of different disciplines and backgrounds

⁃ Opportunity to bring coaches together to form Special Interest Groups 

⁃ Visibility on the UK ICF website enabling groups to showcase their events

⁃ For Group Leaders and Co-Leaders, being part of the UK ICF Chapter volunteer team

Each group has its own character and so evolves to meet the needs of its local members. This means that every group is different and has the autonomy to focus on what is of most interest to its members, whilst aligning around a set of core principles which guide the overall ICF Local Group Network.

This makes for a rich mix of different types of group and so there’s plenty of creative discussion when groups collaborate. One great example of this collaboration is in relation to International Coaching Week (ICW). This year, several groups ran programmes to connect and engage their local communities, offering some high-quality opportunities to experience coaching. The ideas, the programme details and the lessons learned were discussed and shared across the groups, enabling others to support and learn from each other.

Who can join a local coaching group?

Each group is led (or co-led) by ICF members, however, all professional coaches are welcome, from both the ICF and other professional coaching bodies; we value the richness that diversity of thought and perspective can bring. 

Groups are open to both experienced, professionally qualified coaches and to coaches in training and to a wide range of coaching roles and styles. Many groups also welcome members who are becoming interested in coaching or work with coaches in a wider context and want to find out more.
