Coaching at the Heart of Transformation: Navigating Change, Empowering Growth, Shaping the Future

We live in exciting - sometimes unsettling - transformative times shaped by exponential technological advancements, the climate crisis, and geopolitical tensions. These forces are driving a deep paradigm shift, and coaching is at its heart. As practitioners, we have a unique role to play. Why? Because we work with people, and people are at the centre of the change.

We help leaders navigate uncertainty, equip teams with the resilience they need to thrive, and support individuals in finding clarity amidst complexity. At the same time, our profession itself is evolving - fast. The rise of AI is reshaping entry-level coaching, offering new tools for accessibility and effectiveness. This evolution challenges us to focus on what humans (still) do best: cultivating presence, deep connection and co-creating profound transformation.

As a chapter, we strive to bring these critical conversations to you, to support you not only in your growth as a coach but also in building sustainable coaching businesses.  

Many of you who join our AGM are surprised to find out about what’s on offer. If you haven’t explored all that UK ICF has to offer, I invite you to take full advantage of our resources. We have local groups for connection, special interest groups for thematic deep dives, webinar series on ethics and credentialing, quarterly group supervision, webinar series for continued professional development, and even discounts for RSA membership, professional liability insurance and more. In 2025, we’ll work towards expanding our low bono coaching opportunities and partnering with ICF Chapter across EMEA for our coaching in organisations members.

December marks the end of my term as UK ICF President and I’d like to thank you all. As members, you enable us to amplify the voice of professional coaching and position it as a powerful force for positive disruption. To those who actively participated in our events, engaged with us on Linked In, or shared your insights - thank you. Your involvement fuels our community and keeps us moving forward. Don’t forget that we’re all volunteers!

In January, Guy Buckingham and Laure Fraval will step into the President role – I have no doubt they will be fantastic and am excited to see the vision and opportunities they will bring to UK ICF. Please join me in congratulating them on their new roles!
