Nature, Climate and Outdoor Coaching

The Nature, Climate and Outdoor Coaching SIG explores how coaching can contribute to addressing the climate crisis, ecological breakdown and the inequities that shape human and planetary wellbeing. Open to all coaches, our SIG offers a space to learn, reflect and connect while exploring how nature-based coaching can support transformative change for clients, communities and our wider world.

About the group

Our purpose is to explore why coaching needs to engage with the climate crisis and ecological breakdown, how coaches can evolve into this work, and what change might look like in practice. We will consider themes including nature connection, climate coaching, outdoor practice, human–nature interconnectedness, personal and collective agency, and how these perspectives can positively influence our work with clients.

Sessions will feature speakers from diverse backgrounds and experiences, alongside storytelling, evidence sharing, inspiration, reflective learning and conversations in plenary and small groups. We aim to make events as nature-based as possible, encouraging participants to bring window views, environmental surroundings and natural objects into sessions. Resources will be shared afterwards, supporting continued learning and exploration.
