What is Friends of UK ICF Chapter membership?
Friends of the UK Chapter is a UK membership for people who care about coaching but aren’t practising ICF members. It keeps you connected to the profession and the UK coaching community, and it gives you a clear route to ICF Professional Coach Membership when you’re ready.
Who is this membership for?
Friends of UK Chapter of ICF membership is for people exploring coaching as a career, professionals using coaching skills in another role, and former or retired coaches.
How much does Friends of UK ICF membership cost?
Friends of the UK Chapter costs £85 a year.
Do I need to be a member of ICF Global?
No. Friends membership is open to anyone and doesn’t require ICF Global membership. If you later become a practising coach, you can join ICF Global and add UK Chapter membership.
What do I get as a Friend of UK ICF?
You can connect with the UK’s professional coaching community, access some UK Chapter events and learning opportunities. You can learn from experienced coaches, meet people at the same stage as you, and keep up with what’s happening in the profession.
What’s the difference between a Friend of Membership and a UK ICF Chapter member?
UK Chapter members are practising and training coaches who are also members of ICF Global. Their membership includes benefits for building a coaching practice, such as a Coach Finder profile and credentialing support. Friends join for connection and learning, without the professional membership route.
Can I upgrade to UK Chapter membership later?
Yes. When you’re ready to practise as a coach, join ICF Global and add UK Chapter membership. Our membership route finder page shows you how.
Can I have a Coach Finder profile?
The Coach Finder lists coaches who hold an ICF credential and are a member of the UK Chapter, so it isn’t part of a Friends membership. If you earn an ICF credential and join as a UK Chapter member, you can have a searchable profile.
How do I join?
Choose Become a Friend of the UK Chapter of ICF on the membership page and complete the short joining form.
