About the group
The Conflict Coaching SIG helps coaches understand conflict not as something to avoid, but as a natural, often generative part of human relationships. Drawing on conflict transformation, mediation, and negotiation theory, we look at how coaches support clients through disagreement, communication breakdown, and unresolved tension — in teams, leadership relationships, or personal life. Members shape the group’s direction — proposing topics, sharing anonymised case studies, and co-hosting sessions. It’s a collaborative, evolving community rather than a fixed curriculum, built around the interests and expertise of those who join.
Who’s it for?
This group is for ICF members at any stage of their journey who want to understand conflict and how it shows up in coaching relationships. No prior expertise in conflict resolution or mediation is required — just curiosity. Coaches already working in organisational, leadership, or relationship contexts will find practical tools for sessions, while those newer to the topic will gain a grounding in conflict dynamics and how to coach through them with confidence and skill.
