Ruth Wood

Hello!  I’m Ruth, an ICF accredited leadership coach working with individuals and teams.  I work with a wide range of people, from business owners to senior leaders in the health, education and charity sectors.

I love working with clients longer term to find new perspectives and make the changes they want to see in themselves, and at work.  Real change takes time.  Together we create a safe space to think, reflect and find new approaches to challenges. My clients describe me as empathetic, challenging and highly perceptive.

I have a special interest in working with people in organisations who find it difficult to have their voices heard due to systemic bias and challenging team or organisational cultures.  I am passionate about creating inclusive cultures at work.

My own experience of living with a chronic health condition has given me a strong interest in building and maintaining resilience – something that I regularly support leaders to focus on.

I have over 200 hours of ICF-accredited training, including a Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching and a Professional Coach Diploma.

As a leader in my previous career in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Cabinet office (roles ranging from diplomacy to strategy and transformation) I coached for over a decade, and now as a professional coach, I have logged hundreds of hours with individuals and teams.  I am ICF accredited at ACC level, currently working towards my PCC, and I am in regular 1-2-1 supervision.

I also have an ICF-accredited qualification in team coaching,  additional ICF training in Diversity and Inclusion, and have undertaken CPD in coaching for work-life balance. 

I am an accredited Strengthscope practitioner (a strengths-based psychometric tool), and qualified DISC practitioner.
