I enjoy creating value for my clients by helping them get the very best from themselves and from their people. I look for sustainable partnerships and long-term relationships with people I like, trust and respect. I believe that we should all allow ourselves to enjoy life, being sensitive to the need for work/life balance, equity, inclusion, and fairness.

A fundamental belief underpinning my coaching is that my client’s own best decision will be better than any advice that I could offer, and that the best outcome of effective coaching for my client will be their own informed, intentional, conscious choices.

One driver of my commitment to coaching is my belief that leaders have a far-reaching impact not only on the performance of their teams but also on the wider culture of their organisation. They also have a significant impact on the wellbeing of their colleagues and their non-work and family life. Coaching can contribute to a leaders’ capability and capacity to offer considerate, effectiveness, and authentic leadership

I have really enjoyed my work consulting with many different organisations and companies and working with thousands of individuals for their development, or selection to new posts. The learning curve has been almost vertical. I have worked in many not-for-profit organisations as well as global and local private sector businesses. I have worked throughout Europe and Scandinavia, and have also delivered assignments in India, Russia, and Dubai.

I have been consulting and recruiting internationally for more than 25 years. Since 2010 I have worked independently as Roger Fielding Consulting Limited, and as an associate with Danish consultancy Birn+Partners, and Norwegian consultancy Head4More. I am a hugely experienced Executive Coach, recognised as a Master Certified Coach (MCC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). I also work with other coaches for their continuing professional development as a partner of Ellipsis Coach Development. I am a panel coach for several organisations including large corporates and UK universities. I am a tutor at Cambridge University for their Certificate and Diploma programmes in Coaching.

My extensive academic studies include management, psychology, and economics (BSc), and post-graduate study of education, organisational behaviour, social research, and business (MEd MPhil MBA). I am also a trained educator (PGCE)
