Nicola Williams
I'm an experienced Chartered Coaching Psychologist, and been a leadership coach for 12 years with over 1200+ coaching hours. I coach leaders (aspiring leaders, and c-suite) in the public, private and charity sectors, specialising in mental fitness.
I believe in coaching the whole person – and the potential of the person to find their own solutions, with my role being to deepen the client’s awareness. My strengths are working with leaders to develop mental fitness, confidence, resilience, to manage transitions and build effective relationships with others.
My approach is relational – building strong connections and creating a space to enable people to think deeply, through careful listening and skilful challenge – and integrative – drawing from psychological models and tools from a variety of disciplines.
As well as one-to-one and team coaching, I am a qualified and experienced coach/professional supervisor, action learning facilitator, group coach, and leadership programme facilitator – adept at delivering sessions face-to-face and online.
In addition to being recognised by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), I am a registered Chartered Coaching Psychologist (349981) and member of the British Psychological Society. I have a doctorate in mental health, help-seeking and public involvement, and Masters degrees in Coaching and Development, and in Social Research, ILM7 in Coaching Supervision. I am also a certified Mental Fitness Coach, and a certified practitioner of a number of tools that support coaching conversations (KornFerry ESCI, Climate, Traits and Drivers), Insightful Leader 360, Team Performance Accelerator, and the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi) and BarOn Emotional Quotient -360 (EQ-360)).
I have worked in a clinical setting for nearly 30 years, initially in primary care and public health, in large hospital trusts and most recently as a national director in Wales. I have been a policy advisor to the Welsh and UK Governments and advised on various national and local change programmes – coaching people, programmes and processes. I have written a variety of publications related to mental health literacy, disclosure and help-seeking.
