Lorna Clarke

Supporting leaders to navigate the joys and challenges of a new role. Working with people who care about leading well and their impact on their team, business and community.

It’s not easy being a leader and, the transition into a new role can bring huge pressure with it. Alongside the excitement of what could be, many find leadership a lonely place, where confidence is regularly challenged and under stress, unhelpful behaviours are magnified.

I work with aspiring leaders to new CEO’s to support them through career transitions as they take on greater autonomy and responsibility, so they can lead with greater ease, confidence, and in a way that feels authentic to them.

‘I had been in my first CEO role for a year when Lorna and I met and was struggling with daily imposter syndrome, leadership challenges, wanting to do the best job for my team and organisation but not really believing that I could. I cannot stress enough how helpful and empowering I have found it working with Lorna.’
Medina Johnson – Chief Executive, IRISi

Common themes people bring to coaching:
– Navigating the transition into a new role or preparing for promotion
– Having a greater impact as a leader
– Finding a more sustainable way to live and lead, addressing burnout
– Developing an authentic and personally aligned leadership style
– Feeling a loss of confidence or a sense of ‘impostorism’
– A desire for space to think about strategic issues
– Improving collaboration and developing high performing teams

A little more about me….
I became interested in leadership and personal development in 2004 when I worked with a coach as I transitioned to a senior leadership role at Deloitte. This was fundamental to successfully leading the business through significant change and the eventual spin out into a JV. It also sparked my curiosity in human potential, what makes for great leadership and how we can lead authentically and sustainably.

Today, as an accredited leadership coach and founder of Exploring Human Potential, I work with people across various sectors and geographies, including professional services, banking, tech start-ups, retail and the public and not-for-profit sectors. I’m also an external coach for the NHS London Leadership Academy.
