Joerg Kuehn
Leadership development coach working with senior executives and business owners
When I crossed the magic “40” of my life, I decided to leave my comfort zone and walk 800km on the Camino De Santiago in Spain. This tough, but enriching personal journey changed my life and gave me the courage to follow my personal passion becoming an Executive Coach
Having spent nearly 2 decades in high-profile leadership roles in Asia, I am a big fan of the Japanese concept of ‘Ikigai’ which captures your ‘reason for living’ and which is made up of two words, ‘iki’ meaning ‘life’ and ‘kai’ meaning ‘worth’ or ‘benefit’.
Your Ikigai is beyond simply being successful or working hard, it’s something more. It’s the feeling of being in-tune with yourself and maximising your personality and potential.
To find your Ikigai you need to have something the world needs, something you’re good at, something you can be paid for and most importantly something you love doing.
Most of my clients seek me out because they are either missing one of those vital ingredients or are stuck in developing one of them. I simply help people get better at what they do, get better paid better for it and connect fully with their reason for doing it, so that it feels natural, and hurdles can be easily overcome.
I believe that we can move beyond efficiency into a state of harmony between ourselves and our goals, like those days when everything seems to go ‘just right’ but having that feeling every day.
After a 20-year corporate career, I felt something was missing from my own Ikigai and so I became an Executive Coach and sought additional training in depth psychology and psychotherapeutic methods.
My thinking was to use this unique combination of skills and experiences not only to help people recover their peace, but to specifically help people who were already successful to find the missing piece of their own puzzle, to grow beyond and thrive.
Now I provide tailored leadership development services such as Executive, Team and Business Coaching. I focus on helping individuals and organisations to build engaged, productive and resilient structures, leveraging change and the hidden qualities of people as their competitive advantage.
My passions are problem-solving, touching and improving peoples’ lives and having found my own Ikigai, guiding others to find theirs.
