Derek Appau

I’m a leadership development coach and trusted partner to senior leaders and teams navigating change, complexity and the human pressures of modern leadership, intensified by AI, digital disruption and constant transformation.

Called upon by organisations including Google, Shopify, HMRC Finance, WPP, Interpublic, PublicisGroupe, RVU, Santander and the NHS I help to strengthen leadership effectiveness while building high-performing, psychologically safe cultures where innovation can thrive.

I’m known to surface the unspoken with care, enabling courageous conversations and sharper decision making.

Coaching leaders 1:1, I blend support and challenge to develop self-aware, emotionally intelligent, future-ready leadership.

A specialism is working with newly formed or high-stakes groups/teams under pressure to scale fast, restructure or reset.

I help teams see themselves clearly, uncovering repeating patterns, conflict dynamics, tribalism, collective strengths and hidden risks that impact performance.

My approach integrates intuition with evidence, using robust assessments to measure mental toughness, emotional intelligence, stress, strengths and blind spots, alongside his signature frameworks such as the 5 Evolutions of a Limitless Leader™.

The result: leaders who respond rather than react, teams that trust and collaborate deeply, and cultures where sustainable high performance replaces burnout and silence.
