About
I am Director of Operations on the Board of the UK Chapter of ICF. A Professional Certified Coach with a Doctorate in Professional Practice, I spent 23 years in the Royal Air Force, leaving as a Group Captain and Chief of Staff to the RAF’s Chief People Officer. That experience shaped my understanding of leadership within complex, hierarchical systems.
I work as an Executive Coach, helping senior leaders explore, understand and build confidence in their own unique leadership style.
I bring to the Chapter deep governance experience, a commitment to raising coaching’s professional reputation, and a collaborative, values-led approach.
My role at the UK Chapter of ICF
As Director of Operations, I am responsible for the Chapter’s day-to-day operational delivery. My role supports the Board and the wider membership by ensuring good decisions translate into good governance and practical action, from Board processes and compliance to the running of Chapter activities. Key responsibilities include operational planning, coordinating across Board portfolios, and keeping the Chapter’s governance framework fit for purpose.
Why I volunteer
I got involved because I care about the professional reputation of coaching in the UK, and wanted to put my leadership experience to use beyond my own practice. What I enjoy most is working alongside people who share that commitment.
Done well, coaching is one of the most powerful tools I know for helping people lead with confidence.
Areas of focus at the UK Chapter
