Alana F. Avery

Coach Description:

MESSAGE NOW

I’ve spent my career working with people and their experiences in different contexts of change (e.g. career, social and systems change, media representation) where self-awareness, resilience and confidence might be needed.

Coming to coaching through facilitating group peer support sessions, I established projects in complex environments through working with, in particular, transgender people and their families, survivors of sexual and domestic abuse and people with experiences of stigma and poverty. This involved co-creating spaces for insightful conversations and holding trusted, caring and professional relationships.

Working together in the coaching sessions, my approach involves creativity and practical tools, for example using playdough, lego, drawing, music, breathing, physical awareness and nature. Coachees have described the coaching space I create with them as warm, dynamic and holistic. I bring a calm and reliable presence and am ready to listen.

My practice co-creates a space that builds community, shares power, supports learning, nurtures care and enables action whether individually, with a group or team.

Together, we can explore new perspectives and possibilities supporting personal and professional development.
