In late 2012, I chose to redefine my life and walk away from commerce. I wanted to help others, specifically people whose lives have been torn apart by addiction. In 2004, my life was derailed by addiction. I found myself confused, frightened and lonely. Deeply lost and seeing no good reason to carry on, I found it very hard to ask for help. And so began my journey of recovery from addiction and the shame of child abuse 30 years before.
Today, I'm an 'Addiction Recovery Coach', helping people find a way back from their emotional abyss and the brutal circle of addiction. I found the courage to take a risk with my heart and do things differently. I guide clients through the scary process of change, to shrug off years of conflicting behaviour and lead a life free of craving and addiction. My own experience helps me expose the buried pain, anger, fear and shame which bring disruption to every aspect of our daily existence. My job is to help clients explore their emotional self and to find healthier exploits that better compliment their true selves, the undamaged, innocent and original 'self' that I will help you 'recover'. I help clients apply different techniques and emotional tools in a realistic and sustainable manner. I monitor progress and provide feedback along a client's journey. I want to be the mentor to whom you turn instead of those old, learnt and unhealthy behaviours.
I guide individuals through the challenges presented in recovery from addiction, trauma and abuse. And I lead workshops for groups on all aspects of addiction, shame, vulnerability and the path back to emotional connection and health.
I never shared any of the pain of abuse in my early life and all I found was a lonely emotional wilderness. Muddling through will not make you happy. I offer coaching at your own gentle pace. I promise to listen to you and never to judge you. And I promise to help you structure your future from a place of peace.
For now, my deepest thanks for your interest and I welcome any enquiries. My kindest regards and a huge hug- Mark.
